Day Thirty One

I gave blood today! It helped me to forget that Harley isn't here, and also made me happy to be helping someone!

Day Thirty

I have a ton of pictures from today. Harley left today. This is the picture it hurts the least to look at, so this is the one I'll post. I kind of regret looking like such a slob, but he said this is the outfit he wanted to remember me in. *Shrug* Bye Harley!

Day Twenty Nine

Harley packing to leave. *Pouts* This is a picture of him taking his computer apart. His bags were heavy coming in... but DUDE! Add two computers to the pile and they were beyond heavy!

Day Twenty Eight

Harley wanted to go out for Chinese again. Apparently he didn't think he'd be able to find decent Chinese in Virginia.

Tuesday, January 27, 2009

Day Twenty Seven

Dad wearing Harley's glasses at the Chinese buffet. How is it that Harley looks so adorable in his birth control glasses but dad looks like such a dork?

Monday, January 26, 2009

Twenty Six

Dad showing off his new work vest. We all decided he's not a vest person. Rofl.

Sunday, January 25, 2009

Day Twenty Five

As a way to celebrate my birthday, Harley's birthday, and our anniversary (which all past while he was away) we went to Olive Garden for dinner. Yum!

Saturday, January 24, 2009

Day Twenty Four

My cat HATES Harley. She growls at him if she hears his voice on the phone. He was sitting on the floor today and we were all more than a little shocked when she crawled up on his lap and let him pet her.

Day Twenty Three

Today dad got home from his business trip. We spent the night relaxing. We watched Horton Hears a Who. Harley had shipped a few things to the house and they had arrived during the week. They sat in front of the tv through the entire movie. About an hour after the movie ended dad says "Hey Harley! Your boxes came!" Like they had just materialized in thin air. It was kind of hilarious.

Day Twenty One

Today's school schedule was worse than yesterdays. The school day didn't end until 5 o'clock. To many wasted Harley hours in my opinion! I don't get enough as it is. *pouts*

Day Twenty

Today was my first day back to classes. It kind of sucked. I hated to be away from Harley, but it was nice to be in school again. I really missed class. One thing I didn't miss was trudging to the bus stop in the snow. Want to know a photography secret? Don't cover the lens with your finger. =P

Day Nineteen

This is the day of the month I decided to add pictures of me in. Since January is Harley's Month, I wanted a picture that decently depicted his visit. What's better than a picture with his dixie cup in my I <3 my Sailor hoodie? Nothing! Except maybe a picture I don't look like a pig in. Lol.

Day Eighteen

Tomorrow is dad's birthday, but he's leaving for Cooperstown tonight. We're celebrating today. I crotched him a "broom sweater" as a joke gift. I can't show it though, because it turned out looking a lot more sexual than I had wanted. Haha. Everyone got a good laugh out of it. Harley had a ton of fun playing with the spray nozzle on the sink. It was really funny to watch.

Day Seventeen

I've got pictures of Harley getting off the plane, but they're on my camera which I forgot in the car, which dad took to Cooperstown with him on his business trip. I'll post them when he gets back Friday.

Friday, January 16, 2009

Day Sixteen

There were tons of cool things at the airport to play with while I waited for Harley's plane to land. This was my favorite of the displays. The stupid airport didn't have a observation deck. I was really bummed. The fake planes kept me busy though. Harley's plane will land at 11:59.

Day Fifteen

Today can not go slower. =( I had plans to keep me busy, people were going to come over and play games to keep me distracted. Half of them got sick, a quarter of them had other plans they couldn't get out of.. and it seemed silly to have a 3 person game night. Wah.

Day Fourteen

The dying position.
It's been a long time since I've executed a true to it's name dying position. A few years ago a good friend named it. I took to forming this position in times of great pain. I took to doing a lot of stupid things in times of great pain. The dying position was the safest of my habits. It's been a long time since I've executed a true to it's name dying position. When I do take this form, I try hard to make sure no one is aware of it. I put my ipod on the highest volume, I close my door, shut off the lights, and close my eyes. I cut myself off from the world for awhile.

It's just been one of those days.

(Also, I say this knowing you'll never read this. It's really a pointless thing to say.. But I've been thinking about you a lot lately Rachel. I hope your dying position days are far behind you. I love you, girl.)

Day Thirteen

We played Uno after dinner. We bet chores. Loser had to take garbage out. The first time Michael lost, but he whined, telling us he lost because we cheated. We didn't of course... We played another game and said that the loser of the second game had to help the loser of the first. Dad lost the second time. It was close though.

Monday, January 12, 2009

Day Twelve

The cat had been hiding for the last couple of days. She finally came out again. I was really worried. The last time I had a cat hide for days on end, she died. I'm glad to see her alive!

Sunday, January 11, 2009

Day Eleven

We got rid of the Christmas Tree today. The living room looks really empty now.

Saturday, January 10, 2009

Day Ten

I spent a lot of time in the library kitchen today. I washed dishes from a program, and organized the Christmas decorations in here. It was very quiet and peaceful. It's also the room with the best view of the road in the building. I saw every single flake that cover the road in 6 inches of snow. It's still snowing out.. No end in site.

Friday, January 9, 2009

Day Nine

I worked most of the day. I have the M section to shelf read. That means I have to organize the dreaded Larry McMurtry. I know it's been two years, but the site of Dove still makes me shudder!
After work I went to the movies with Uncle Bill, Aunt Becky, Mom, and Dad. We went to see Gran Torino. It was violent, but enjoyable. It was very sad, and very funny. I'm very glad they asked me along.

Thursday, January 8, 2009

Day Eight

Even though it hurts my eyes, I think this is an awesome picture. The switch on the bathroom light broke off today. We have to turn the bulb to get the light to turn off. In general I try not to touch light bulbs that have been on for any length of time. They are hot when they have been on.. This light bulb, after being on for hours, almost melted my fingers off when I turned it off tonight. Of course, after melting my fingers I realized I was a moron and could have used a washcloth and saved my fingers.

Day Seven

Happy one week Project 365! It rained all night, and then froze into a huge sheet of ice. Trying to walk was... no fun at all! I stayed in the house almost all day. My grandparents called dad after dinner, and told him that Grandpa's heart wasn't feeling good. He's been having a lot of trouble with his medication and lives in a house with a driveway that is impossible. Dad, Mike, and I went up to their house and scraped away at ice for two hours until it was clear. Wanted to be sure if the ambulance was needed, it could get there!
I also had a twin egg for breakfast. Mom told me it wasn't exciting. Apparently twin eggs are very popular. I thought it was cool.Last but not least, after a day of nothing but hanging around the house, I got 91 quilt blocks finished. I can almost see the finished quilt when I lay them all out. I'm very excited! I can't wait until it's finished.

Tuesday, January 6, 2009

Day Six

Ashley and I hung out today. Then dad came home earlyish from work, and joined in our fun of looking over the new Oriental Trading Company magazine.

I moved the "This Day in History" window to the bottom of the page. It looked better down there in my opinion. Don't forget to check it out! It gives pretty interesting information. =)

Monday, January 5, 2009

Day Five

"From: Harley
There is a strong possibility we could be totally finished and out of here by the 1*th."

I had every intention of posting a picture of the quilt I spent all day working on. Harley's news seems to trump that though doesn't it? Is it the 1*th yet?

I did do a lot of work on these quilt patches though. I cut all the fabric, sewed the small pieces together and stitched up two heart blocks. I have 15 of 99 blocks fully completed.

Day Four

Most of my morning was consumed with the computer and television. I think I finally have this site the way I want it. I spent a lot of time with my parents after that. Mom and I had a huge project we were doing for Christmas. We usually worked on it on Sundays.. I guess the habit of spending Sundays together has formed. Mom and I went to Barns and Nobles to exchange a book I got for Christmas. Mom used her gift card. After that we went to A.C. Moore and bought some floss for a project she's doing. After dinner the three of us caught up on Heros.

Day Three Continued

I accidentally left my camera in the car while me and Tracy were eating. I took a picture with my phone but it didn't come out great. So I didn't get to take any quality pictures in the restaurant. We went to a Chinese buffet. Turns out Tracy's a vegetarian now. If I had known that I would have picked a more vegetarian friendly restaurant!

After that we went to see a movie with Alex and Katherine. They showed up late so we didn't get a chance to talk. We saw the Curious Case of Benjamin Button. Everyone said it was a great movie. I choose to disagree! It was predictable and long.

The photo I took to represent these events is the contents of my pocket after coming home. It shows the free small soda coupon I got with my Regal Crown Club Card, the receipt for the movie, and the change I got back from paying for dinner and the movie.
I again tried to take this picture with the flash. You can't tell what I was taking a picture of when I had the flash on. It was a really interesting picture none the less.

Day Three

As it turns out, I have a horrible time picking just one picture from my day. I have two more that describe todays events perfectly. I picked this one though, because I've spent at least 6 hours today with this view. The new book display is looking horrible lately. The covers have poor art design, which I could get over.. if the shelf itself wasn't in such disarray! It hurts to look at it.

I would like to note that besides having a hard time picking a single picture today, I also seem to have an overflow of words. Excuse all the BLAH BLAH BLAH! =)

I'm going out to dinner with Tracy after work. I'm worried that I'll regret posting this picture of my work day and not a picture of dinner with her. I may return to post again. We shall see. Does it work like that? Am I breaking the rules if I post more than one picture and to many words?

Day Two

If you had asked me two months ago who my favorite author was, or if I had a specific genre of book I liked best, I would have said "No. I don't have a favorite author and I'll read anything but Sci-Fi. I hate Sci-Fi." Then I was introduced to Edward, Bella, Melanie and Wanda. I love you guys. Stephenie Meyer is my favorite author and I don't hate Sci-Fi anymore.
I had two pictures of the same set up. One had a flash and the other didn't. I like the way the dark one looks.. but the one with the flash made the eye on the cover of The Host look better.

(I have a picture and a little ramble about it for today, but it's on the computer at home. So you'll have to wait! Come back tomorrow. It should be up by then.)

Day One

Happy New Year! It snowed like crazy today. Almost 6 inches. No one shoveled. We all sat in our pjs playing video games all day. We only do it once a year, so we let ourselves be total bums without feeling bad about it. =)

Project 365
http://www.photojojo.com/content/tutorials/project-365-take-a-photo-a-day/
Taking a photo a day is a big undertaking with big payoffs. Here are just a few reasons why you should consider doing it:
Imagine being able to look back at any day of your year and recall what you did, who you met, what you learned… (Often we find it hard to remember what we did just yesterday or even last night, let alone a whole year ago!)
Your year-long photo album will be an amazing way to document your travels and accomplishments, your haircuts and relationships. Time moves surprisingly fast.
Taking a photo a day will make you a better photographer. Using your camera every day will help you learn its limits. You will get better at composing your shots, you’ll start to care about lighting, and you’ll become more creative with your photography when you’re forced to come up with something new every single day.

Hope you don't mind me stealing this from you Mel. Since you took it from the site, I figured you wouldn't mind. <3 I'm also going to post date the first couple of posts just so that the time line makes sense to me. Hope no one minds that either.
